Children, Inc. is proud to be a national partner of the Jefferson Awards for Public Service. This community based non-profit operates a number of educational programs in Covington, Northern Kentucky. Children, Inc.’s Service Learning Program utilizes the Jefferson Awards recognition system to reward participants for their service to the community. This Service Learning Program provides training, resources, curriculum development, funding, community connections, and evaluation for teachers and schools throughout Greater Cincinnati to implement service learning projects in classes. During the 2010-2011 school year, there were over 22,500 students that completed a service learning project as part of this program.

Children, Inc., along with other local partners such as the Greater Cincinnati United Way and
The Greater Cincinnati Y, organize the annual National Youth Service Summit conference in
Cincinnati, Ohio. With national partners like Youth Service America, the Jefferson Awards,
andUGIVE.ORG, we are able to coordinate an outstanding conference experience for youth from
around the country. This conference is uniquely designed for youth that are passionate about
service and service learning. During the weekend, youth attendees participate in direct service
to the community. This demonstration and celebration of their service, along with leadership
development workshops, help them not only make a difference now, but continue to make a
difference into the future.
