Schedule for Spring Competition
  • 12:45-1:00 - check in
  • 1:00-1:15 - intro and welcome
  • 1:15-2:00 - Speaker (and possible activity) from Center for Victims of Torture
  • 2:00-2:45 - Team-building activity
  • 2:45-3:15 - food
  • 3:15-5:15 - presentations from approx. 8 schools (with break after #4 or #5)
  • 5:15-6:00 - Awards Ceremony
Plus a few surprises thrown in for fun!

It will be played during TV broadcasts of Minnesota Swarm games on Channel 45 the remainder of their season! After the clip, continue watching for the Swarm's recognition of SIA students on the field during the game on 3/30/12.

 We also have developed clear scoring rubrics 
 that are used to evaluate each school's effort in
 working toward accomplishing the 7 Goals.
 Students are encouraged to use these rubrics as
 guides as they develop and execute their plans
 for each school year.

Students at 2011 Jefferson Awards National Gala in Washington, DC


Three students from Brooklyn Center HS were invited to attend the Jefferson Awards National Gala in Washington, DC. The unique print of Thomas Jefferson by the famed artist Peter Max is presented to the students in recognition for being the Regional Winning School from Minnesota. Join Students in Action

Become a Minneapolis-St. Paul Leadership School

 

Students in Action offers high schools throughout Minnesota a turnkey leadership curriculum combined with a statewide and national recognition program for outstanding service and volunteerism.

 

The program is ideal for high schools that are:

·         Interested in or just beginning a service club or program,

·         Already involved in service learning or volunteerism programs and regularly engage in service projects, or

·         Proud to have service, leadership and volunteerism as engrained values.

 

The program is offered at no fee to ALL Minnesota high schools and there is no deadline for enrollment. For more information, contact Minnesota Regional Director Tom Basquill at t.basquill@jeffersonawards.org.
